DIY Animal Mask! 🐯🎭

Choose from some of our fun animal prints available on our gallery of designs or create your own! Use your custom fabric to make great face masks for costumes, dress up, parties and more! Make several for your kids to play with and let their imagination soar! Learn how we made our tiger mask with the tutorial below. 🐯🎭

  • Fabric
  • Elastic
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Sewing Machine
  • Pins
  • Paper
  • Pencil

Step 1: Making Sewing Pattern

First you will make your pattern. Start with a piece of paper folded in half. Sketch out the face you would like and cut it out.

Step 2: Cutting Fabric

Use your new pattern to cut 2 pattern pieces out your chosen fabric. We chose this fun tiger costume pattern by khaus and had it printed on our soft Polyester Velour. Perfect and comfortable for a face mask!

Measure how much elastic you will need from temple to temple minus an inch or so.

Step 3: Sewing Your Mask

Now you will place your pattern pieces’ right sides together sandwiching your elastic between the pieces and pinning each end on either side of the mask.

Next you will sew around your entire mask at ¼” seam allowances leaving a 2-inch opening on the bottom of the mask.

Step 4: Finishes

Now you will clip any threads, trim down corners and flip your mask right-side out through your opening.

Press seams flat and ladder stitch your opening closed.

Final step is to sew closed the eye holes. Pin each eye layer together and using a zigzag stitch edge stitch around the entire opening. Repeat for other eye.

All done! These fun masks only take a few moments to make and can bring loads of fun to your kids and family!
