Looking for a fun easy breezy outfit for this hot summer? We found this adorable Wrap skirt and shorts outfit that we could not pass up, Simplicity 8343! Not to mention our new chiffon fabric was just the right fabric for this creation!
With this sewing pattern we wanted to do the shorts with long wrap skirt combo, pattern C. However, knowing the chiffon would be ideal for the skirt part we wanted something a little less sheer for the shorts. So, we got the same print printed on a yard of our Satin! They complimented each other perfectly and kept the flowy feel of the wrap skirt!
We followed along with the tutorial with only a few short changes. First, we wanted our shorts to be a little longer so instead of the full hem allotted we only used a 3/4” hem folding it once 3/8” pressing and folding again at 3/8” pressing and stitching at ¼”.
We also noted that the front tie area sagged a little low, so we removed ½” on the side seams on each. For the skirts seams we did a french seam since the fabric is a bit sheer!
Other than those 2 minor adjustments the pattern turned out adorable! This pattern we would recommend a more experienced sewer the it may be a little challenging for a beginner. If you are up for the challenge however give it a go. It is a great piece to have in your closet for those hot summer days!
