DIY Hair Scrunchies!

Hair scrunchies are making a comeback! Make these fun scrunchies with your fabric scraps or make your own funky print to express your style! Follow along with our easy tutorial below. ❤💁

Supplies:

  • Fabric
  • Elastic (”1/8- 1/2” width)
  • Sewing Machine
  • Hand Needle
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Safety pin
  • Marking Chalk

Step 1: Preparing the fabric

To start you will cut out your fabric. You will need a 4” by 21” strip.

Next you will fold the fabric in half right sides together long ways and pin the edge closed.

Step 2: Sewing the fabric

Then you will sew the long edge at ½” seam allowance starting 2” from the top end and ending 2” away from the bottom end.

Next using a safety pin turn the strip right side out. Then lining up the short ends right side together sew at ½” seam allowance.

Step 3: Adding elastic

Then using about 8” of elastic feed it through the tube using the safety pin. Sew the ends of the elastic together backstitching several times for maximum strength.

Once that is completed you will hand stitch the opening closed with a ladder stitch! Bam you are all done and can rock your scrunchies all day long!
